Bronco Bullfrog (DVD & Blu-Ray Dual Format)

UK/ 1969/ Black & White/ Directed by Barney Platts-Mills

Del (Del Walker) a young apprentice, and his girlfriend Irene (Anne Gooding) have no money and nowhere to go. Angry and frustrated, they turn to "Bronco Bullfrog' - fresh out of borstal and living an independent lifestyle- for a taste of fun and freedom. Unfortunately Del buys a BSA motorbike instead of a scooter to facilitate his freedom - but thats the only downside to one our favourite film.

Powerful and authentic, this fascinating record of the then emerging suedehead subculture. Largely improvised by a non-professional cast of teenagers from East London within the back drop of Hackney Marshes, Stratford, Plaistow, Limehouse and Isle of dogs.

Shot on 35mm film in black & white for the price of a Hackney parking space of £18K. None of the actors went onto make any other films unfortunately and Sam Shepherd still lives in the area as a market porter.Released here in a fully remastered High Definition DVD/Blu-ray.

Special Features:

-French & English subtitles

-High and Standard definition

-Fully illustrated booklet with newly commissioned essays and photographs

-3 extra short films: Seven Green Bottles, Joan Littlewood interview, and the excellent Everybodys an actor, Shakespeare said with teenagers who would star in Bronco Bullfrog
